The snow makes a gentle crunching sound beneath your feet, the ice crystals glitter in the sunshine, as you quietly glide across the magical winter landscape. When you are out snowshoeing you can really unwind and enjoy being in pristine nature.
Snowshoeing at Lake Constance
A snowshoeing tour through deep snow is an unforgettable experience. Head up and down hills, through woods and end up in a rustic hut or mountain restaurant to warm up and refuel.
In the Lindau area you have plenty of snowshoeing opportunities on the Pfänder: The 1,064-metre-high mountain outside Bregenz has over 30 km of cleared paths, most of which are ideal for snowshoeing. When the lake is shrouded in mist, head for the summit to enjoy the sunshine. Once you get there you can warm up and refuel in the cosy Pfänderdohle.
The Allgäu and Bregenz Forest regions also offer many wonderful snowshoeing routes through unspoilt nature, or head to Switzerland and try the area around the Säntis.
