Tobogganing is sure-fire fun for young and old alike. Fly round the exciting curves and down the mountain’s steep slopes on your polished runners.

Tobogganing on Lindau´s “own” mountain

The Pfänder has a particularly good run for kids. Take the Pfänder cable car to the summit, where you will find a basin for children to toboggan, near the Pfänderdohle restaurant. But you’ll need to bring your own sledges or toboggans as there is nowhere to hire them on the Pfänder.

Sledging in Switzerland

If you want to take it more gently, head for the groomed winter walking path that runs from Steinfluh to Schwägalp on the Säntis. A 20-minute walk brings you to the Siebenhütten mountain hut, from where you can sledge back. Once you get to the Schwägalp, why not treat yourself to delicious Swiss-style macaroni cheese or Rösti? You can hire toboggans in the shop on the Schwägalp.

The more adventurous runs in the Allgäu and Bregenz Forest regions provide the potential for thrills and spills. Many runs also offer floodlit tobogganing.
