What do you do when its cloudy, raining and you’re not sure how to spend the day?  Don’t worry, follow our tips and you’ll have fun whatever the weather!

Fortunately, there are still plenty of things to do in Lindau when the weather turns bad. Here are a few suggestions to make sure a rainy day is still a wonderful day of your holiday.

When it’s wet visit a spa

If you have the right clothing, a long walk along Lindau’s shoreline is still beautiful, even on cold wet days. You can then warm up with a hot cup of coffee or chocolate in one the island’s many cosy cafés. Another way to warm up is to pay a visit to the spa and wellness facilities at the Bayerischer Hof, the Hotel Bad Schachen or the Hotel Helvetia. Treat yourself to a massage or hot sauna and simply…. relax.

If the kids need to let off steam, head for the indoor pool at the Limare spa and leisure complex. You could also play tennis on the indoor courts or try your hand at skittles.

Roof over the head in the museum

Another great option is to pay a visit to one of Lindau’s museums. The Peace Rooms museum is ideal for the whole family. It doesn’t just approach the issue of peace through static displays, but offers an exciting interactive experience with a range of hands-on activities. Every year the Stadtmuseum hosts a first-class special exhibition. It also tells the story of Lindau’s fascinating history and has a unique collection of mechanical musical instruments.
Shopping fans are well catered for at the Lindaupark shopping centre. With more than 40 stores under one roof, you can shop till you drop. In the evening why not take in a performance at the Stadttheater or be amazed by the dancing puppets at the Marionette Opera? There’s no need for a little rain to spoil your day – there’s always plenty to do in Lindau!
