The Sea-Life Aquarium in Constance is a worthwhile destination, especially for families with children: here you can dive into a colourful underwater world together and discover a fascinating variety of species. The extraordinary aquarium on Lake Constance offers you a unique glimpse into life in local and tropical waters.
The largest aquarium on Lake Constance
Almost 3,000 saltwater and freshwater fish swim around in tanks designed to resemble their natural habitats; the themed worlds are divided according to different bodies of water. For example, you can experience an exciting journey through the rainforest, where you will encounter the predators of the rainforest – piranhas. You can also explore the underwater world of the Red Sea in an eight-metre-long tunnel. Here, you may encounter blacktip reef sharks or green sea turtles – all on Lake Constance!
The fish are joined by starfish, turtles, crabs and ten lively gentoo penguins. During feeding times and at the interactive touch pools, you can even experience some of the animals up close.
Another part of the exhibition follows the path of water from the source of the Rhine in the mountains via Lake Constance to the north to the port of Rotterdam on the North Sea.
Right next door: the Lake Constance Nature Museum
The Nature Museum is also located in Sea Life on Hafenstraße: the formation of Lake Constance and its diverse habitats form the centrepiece of the vivid exhibition, with lovingly displayed animals and informative models. There are also changing special exhibitions and a freely accessible play and learning area in front of the museum. The Lake Constance Nature Museum is located directly on the lake shore and is only a few steps away from the main railway station, the boat landing stage and the central bus stop.
