When, where and how you have to pay tourist tax
The amount of the tourist tax varies from zone to zone and is set in accordance with Lindau’s tourist tax regulations. In 2016 it is levied from 1 April to 31 October.
In Lindau the tourist tax is levied on visitors over 16 years old and amounts 2,00 € per person per night.
Children under 6 are exempt. Children between 6-16 years are charged 1,30 € per child per night
Owners of second homes are also liable to pay tourist tax in accordance with tourist tax regulations. People who are at least 50% disabled receive a 50% discount upon presentation of proof of disability. If the proof of disability notes that the disabled person requires a permanent carer, then that carer also receives this discount.
