The Sparkasse Marathon through the three Lake Constance countries of Germany, Austria and Switzerland is legendary and attracts a sports-mad public from all over the world.  In 2024, the Sparkasse 3-Länder-Marathon will be held on 13 October 2024 .

This race connects countries and people

Starting at the Lindau harbour promenade, the marathon route leads directly along the shore of Lake Constance to Bregenz. Past the lake stage of the Bregenz Festival, the route continues through the Mehrerau Monastery. Where you normally have to show your passports, the customs officers wave you over the Swiss-Austrian border with cowbells. From St. Margrethen in Switzerland, the route then returns via the Rhine dam to the finish stadium in Bregenz.

The event usually comprises a total of five runs. If the Sparkasse Marathon at 42.195 km is too long for you, you can also choose a shorter distance: the Skinfit Half Marathon (21.0975 km), the ImmoAgent Quarter Marathon (10.9 km) or the Walking Track with 21 or 10.9 km. Alternatively, you can take part in the relay marathon and divide the marathon route between four runners.

The start of the 3-country marathon will be at the port of Lindau. Here the runners will set off in five waves from six blocks starting at 10:30 am. So you can cheer for the athletes directly on the island. Alternatively, you can position yourself along the course on the shore of Lake Constance towards Bregenz to cheer on the participants. The final finish will take place at the Casino Stadium in Bregenz.

Please note that the Lindau Island is closed for cars in the morning of the event day. We recommend travelling by train or boat. Both the Lindau railway station and the harbour are located on the Lindau island in the immediate vicinity of the event location. If you still have to travel by car, the paid parking spaces P1 and P2 on the mainland are available.
