Lindau is located in Bavaria and, as befits a Bavarian town, a traditional Oktoberfest is also celebrated here. From August 30 to 01 September 2024 you can experience three days of exuberant atmosphere and “Wiesn-Gaudi” on the mainland.

Prelude to the Lindau Oktoberfest

The Lindau Oktoberfest traditionally begins on Friday evening: with thunderous firecrackers from impressive cannons, the members of the Royal Privileged Shooting Society of Lindau mark the start of the popular event. Afterwards, the guests of honour march into the marquee to the sounds of the Lindau Reutin Music Society.

Another traditional part of the festival is, of course, tapping the festival beer barrel, which is always done by the acting district administrator. After these few but important strokes, the official part is completed. From now on, in the marquee, conviviality with dance and music is the main focus. There is just one motto: Have fun!

Cabins and culinary delights

In addition to the cheerful atmosphere in the marquee, the amusement park attracts guests with various rides and stalls. The Lindau Oktoberfest is of course not without traditional attractions such as “Hau den Lukas” or shooting galleries. For the younger guests there are carousels like the Lummerland train or make-up for children on the programme.

In addition to the obligatory measure of beer, there are other culinary offerings that you should not miss. For example, regional wine from the Lanz winery in Nonnenhorn is served. If you are a lover of hearty roasts, you should try the ox-à-la-“LandZunge”-recipe.

Information for visitors

To make sure you get a place in the marquee, you should reserve a table for the Lindau Oktoberfest. We recommend that you make this reservation as early as possible. A “Wies’n-Special Table” includes 10 festival ribbons, 10 “Our Welcome Gulp”, 20 measures of beer and 10 Wiesenhendl. You can book a table here
