As in almost all German spa and recreation resorts, a visitor tax is also levied in Lindau am Bodensee. By paying this spa tax, you support, among other things, the maintenance of numerous signposted walking, cycling and hiking trails, the freely accessible lakeside and green spaces and many other areas of the tourist infrastructure.
The visitor’s tax will be levied in the period from 1 April to 31 October and amounts to €3.30/day for people aged 16 and over and €2.00/day for children and young people aged six to 15 inclusive.
In the period from 1 November to 31 March, the spa fee is €2.20/day for persons aged 16 and over and €1.20/day for children and young people aged six to 15 inclusive.
Children under the age of six are exempt from the spa tax.
In part of the Lindau district of Reutin, which has a predominantly commercial structure, there is no obligation to pay spa tax. Therefore, no guest card can be issued there. The remaining area of the Reutin district is subject to visitor tax.
