The network of Lindau Tourism

Lindau Tourism is integrated into numerous tourism networks whose common goal is to raise the profile of Lake Constance as a destination on a national and international level.

German Lake Constance Tourism GmbH

Since 2013, the German shore of Lake Constance has had an independent tourism company in the form of Deutsche Bodensee Tourismus GmbH (DBT), which acts as a service provider for the individual towns and stakeholders on the German shore of Lake Constance. One of the main projects is the introduction of the Echt Bodensee Card (EBC) – a future-oriented guest card, which includes free use of public transport. In addition, DBT is taking on marketing and sales tasks under the umbrella brand “ECHT BODENSEE”, which publishes publications such as the Bodensee water sports guide. The district of Lindau holds 21 percent of DBT’s shares.

BodenseeMeeting

The 13 most important conference venues, locations and convention bureaus around Lake Constance have joined forces to form “BodenseeMeeting” so that organisers can take advantage of the full potential around Lake Constance. The range of events spans from world congresses in the medical field to international association congresses and large corporate events to the annual Nobel Prize Winners’ Meeting. The four-country region also offers suitable locations and ideal conditions for seminars or team-building activities.

LiBre

Li Bre stands for the eastern bay of Lake Constance between Lindau in Germany and Bregenz in Austria. The idea of Li Bre is to connect and offer congress and conference facilities for events across national borders. In addition, joint cooperations are to be created in the future for the fields of city management and tourism, mobility and urban development, as well as the cultural sector.

Lindau Lake Constance

Under the name Lindauer Bodensee, the neighbouring Bavarian communities of Lindau, Wasserburg, Nonnenhorn and Bodolz are developing joint products in the areas of enjoyment and panorama. The Nordic Walking Park and the Panorama Cycling Circuit, which is now one of the most popular cycling tours in the border triangle, have already been created within this framework. The autumn of enjoyment – a joint project aimed at extending the tourist season – has also already established itself as a firm, well-received event.

mice:lab Lake Constance

What should the “congress of the future” look like? – This is the question that an initiative of partners in the BodenseeMeeting network has been working on intensively since 2013.

These include representatives from the congress and tourism industry of the four-country region “Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein”. Their goal is to sustainably develop and shape the Lake Constance region as a conference and congress landscape. Because frontal lectures, PowerPoint and seating in rows have long since become dusty. The congress of the future is innovative, creative and diverse – a mirror of the globalised society. The micelab:bodensee comprises three modules that complement each other: the micelab:explorer focuses on research. The results collected in this module flow into the micelab:experts module. Here, experts from the MICE industry come together and test the practically oriented continuing education modules. The aim is then to offer a congress for stakeholders from the MICE industry every two years under the heading micelab:experience, where the experiences from the research and training modules will flow together and be communicated further.

EVVC

With around 750 locations, event centres and congress venues, the Inselhalle Lindau is also represented by the Europäischer Verband der Veranstaltungs-Centren e.V. (European Association of Event Centres) at European level. The international network offers information, advice and promotion and forms an ideal communication platform in the industry. In addition to support in the areas of technology, legal advice and marketing, the association also focuses on education and training within the event industry. Furthermore, the EVVC also represents its members and the entire industry in politics and tries to exert corresponding influence on draft legislation. In addition, members are supported with meaningful key figures and corresponding studies for their argumentation at the municipal level.
