Thanks to its unique location – against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains and directly on the waterfront – the Lindau Harbour Christmas is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the country.
This year, Lindau Harbour Christmas will take place from 27 November to 21 December 2025, always Thursday to Sunday, 11:00 am to 09:00 pm.
Cabins, glittering lights and the smell of mulled wine
Snow-covered Alpine peaks in the background, the lake in front of it, in which sparkling lights are reflected, a fairytale forest with legendary figures and real animals along the promenade: The Lindau Harbour Christmas is special in many ways.
At the market stalls – as in many of the island’s boutiques – the motto “class not mass” applies: Fair trade goods and regional products make buying presents a lasting pleasure.
Every Advent day, different artists perform on the stage at the harbour, putting you in a festive mood with music and dance. Of course you can also treat yourself to seasonal culinary delights.
The festively decorated old town of the Lindau island with its numerous alleys and shops also invites you to a pre-Christmas shopping tour.
Highlights of the Christmas Island
The pre-Christmas programme is diverse and varied: it ranges from a varied musical programme at the harbour to special boat tours. Here you will find a small selection of the activities and offers:

- Christmas cot in St. Stephen’s Church, open daily
- Organ music on Advent saturdays in St. Stephen’s Church
- Visit to the Mang Tower

Arrive at the harbor Christmas
In order to reach the Lindauer Hafenweihnacht in a carefree and stress-free way, we kindly ask you to arrive by public transport such as train, bus or ship. The Christmas market takes place at the harbour of the Lindau island – and is therefore absolutely central and conveniently located.
If you arrive by train, you get off the train right in front of the entrance to the Christmas market: The Lindau Island train station is only a few metres away. The Lindau city bus stops right next to the station and is therefore also only about one minute away from the harbour Christmas.
Also new: from 15 December, the Thurbo regional train will run daily and, during the Harbour Christmas market, from Friday to Sunday, directly to Lindau Island. From Romanshorn, you can reach the Lindau Harbour Christmas market in an hour, and from Rorschach in 30 minutes.
The ships also moor directly at the entrance to the harbour Christmas. Vorarlberg Lines offers a Christmas shuttle between Lindau and Bregenz; the Swiss Lake Constance shipping company commutes from Rorschach to Lindau on three weekends.
If travelling by car is unavoidable, paid parking spaces P1, P2 and the car park at Lindau-Reutin railway station are available on the mainland. From there, you can walk or take the city bus to the Harbour Christmas Market. You can find a detailed parking map here.
